What is concierge medicine?
Concierge medicine is a personalized healthcare model where patients pay a monthly membership fee for enhanced access to their provider.
It typically includes longer appointments, 24/7 communication, same-day or next-day visits, and customized wellness plans.
This model focuses on proactive, patient-centered care that prioritizes the individual’s long-term health while having the ability to manage any acute issues.
-
How does concierge medicine differ from traditional primary care?
The main difference is the level of access and attention patients receive. The most important difference is the focus on preventative health.
In concierge medicine, we manage a smaller patient load, allowing for more personalized care, longer visits, and more direct communication. Our top priority is keeping patients healthy and improving quality of life for as long as possible.
Traditional primary care often involves shorter appointments with limited availability, with doctors managing larger patient rosters. Accordingly, traditional primary care focuses on treatment instead of prevention.
